Nature is declining faster than at any time in human history. We don’t fully understand the impact of nature loss but the resilience of nature and its biodiversity underpins the prosperity of our societies and economies. After a thorough development process, the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) launched its disclosure framework and final recommendations in September 2023. These will help organisations understand and disclose nature-related issues, encouraging global action to halt nature loss. This briefing note introduces the TNFD framework and sets out some of the key takeaways for institutional investors.
