In October, the government launched its ‘Access and Protections’ consultation for the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) in England and Wales.
The consultation covers a number of benefits-related issues including protections for outsourced workers (‘Fair Deal’), access to the LGPS for councillors and mayors, changes to the normal minimum pension age (NMPA) and academy consolidation.
