LOLA has been designed to build and maintain knowledge and mirrors the content within our National Knowledge Assessment (NKA) topics. The NKA was designed to measure knowledge levels and identify gaps across the fund. It also provides benchmarking against all other participating funds, to provide additional context to the levels of knowledge across the different areas assessed.

Together, the two products provide a joined-up approach to assess and develop knowledge and to evidence an appropriate levels of knowledge and understanding.  The NKA can be used to fulfil the requirement to conduct an annual training needs assessment.

The areas covered by both products are those required to successfully manage a fund and include: committee role and pensions legislation, governance, administration, accounting and audit standards, procurement and relationship management, financial markets and product knowledge, plus actuarial methods, standards and practices.
