Scheme Actuary to TPT's CDC scheme

Hymans Robertson is proud to work with TPT Retirement Solutions (TPT) on its application to launch a multi-employer CDC pension scheme. The scheme will provide employers of different sizes and across different sectors with access to CDC in the open market. Hymans Robertson has supported TPT through the authorisation process in its role as scheme actuary.

Commenting on the application submission, Lauren Branney, Head of CDC, Hymans Robertson says:

“We are thrilled to see TPT confirm that they have applied for authorisation. This is an important milestone for the CDC market, with employers now getting closer to having practical options for accessing whole-of-life CDC. It is another step towards changing the pensions market and improving member outcomes and retirement adequacy for all.

“We’ve enjoyed working collaboratively with the TPT team to support them through this authorisation process. It’s a transformative time for CDC, as the market moves from policy and design towards real options for employers and members, and we look forward to seeing TPT’s plans develop from here.”

Paul Eagles, Head of CDC at TPT Retirement Solutions, said:

“Submitting our application is a significant milestone and the culmination of a detailed and rigorous process. Given the innovative nature of multi-employer CDC, it is right that the authorisation process demands a high level of due diligence and detail to ensure schemes are robustly designed and focused on delivering good outcomes for members.

“Hymans Robertson has been an important partner throughout that process. We are grateful for the depth of expertise, challenge and support Jon Hatchett and the team have brought as we have developed our proposition and prepared our application.”

Commenting on the news, Jon Hatchett, Scheme Actuary to TPT's CDC scheme, Hymans Robertson says:

“I am delighted to see TPT reach this stage. It’s been a brilliant project to be involved with due to the quality of the team and the determination to bring something new. TPT are taking the industry forward and it will be great to have Collective Pension Master Trusts going live and taking on employers and members in 2027.”
