As trustees and sponsors navigate the complex journey towards their scheme’s endgame, it's vital to understand what really matters to members. We surveyed over 1,000 individuals in the UK with defined benefit pensions and revealed powerful insights into member priorities, that could help shape strategies and communications that build trust and confidence.

Key findings from our research

  • 67% of members say the security of their pension is their top concern
  • 43% are unsure about insuring benefits with an insurer
  • 60% support their scheme continuing to run to generate a surplus

Our first publication in The Member Perspective series explores why understanding member priorities is critical, and how these insights can inform endgame strategies. By putting members at the heart of decision-making, trustees and sponsors can build confidence and deliver outcomes that align with what matters most.
