Lisa Whitfield is a Partner and Head of Strategic Relationships at Hymans Robertson, leading the firm’s engagement across the UK pensions market. She is a member of the pensions leadership team and plays a pivotal role in shaping how the firm partners with the industry’s most influential decision‑makers — including professional independent trustees, law firms, third‑party evaluators, covenant advisers and other market‑shaping stakeholders.
Since joining Hymans Robertson in 2017, Lisa has brought over 30 years of financial services experience, beginning her career at JP Morgan. She is widely recognised across the market for her ability to build trusted, long‑term relationships and to connect the right people, ideas and opportunities to deliver better outcomes for pension schemes and their members.
A central part of Lisa’s contribution is her leadership of the Hymans Robertson Professional Trustee Programme (HRPTP). She established and now oversees this programme, which provides a fully independent and robust process for supporting schemes and sponsors in selecting and appointing Professional Trustees. Her work in this space has strengthened confidence in trustee appointments and has become a valued service for clients and industry partners alike.
Lisa’s role is strategically significant for Hymans Robertson. Her insight, market connectivity and collaborative approach help ensure the firm remains deeply engaged with the issues shaping the future of pensions. She works closely with senior stakeholders across the industry to anticipate change, influence direction, and champion decisions that uphold strong governance and lead to improved outcomes for members.
Outside of work, Lisa is mum to two teenagers who keep her on her toes. She enjoys travelling, cooking, eating out and spending time with friends and family.
