Commenting on the six scheme transfers announced by Clara today, Harry Allen, Risk Transfer Specialist, Hymans Robertson says:
“There have been 4 superfund transactions completed this year so far. This doubles the total number of superfund transactions ever completed before 2026. We expect this exponential growth to continue over the next few years, with 2 or 3 more superfunds entering the market over the next 6-12months to cater for the growing demand from schemes and sponsors.
“These recent transactions illustrate that evolution. They span multi-scheme consolidation, corporate restructuring and another smaller scheme accessing superfund and demonstrate how the market is evolving to address practical challenges that might otherwise delay transactions. Perhaps the most interesting question for the market is no longer whether superfunds have a role to play, but the range of circumstances in which they can be used.”
