Hymans Robertson has appointed Chris King as Head of Charities, Endowments and Foundations in its investment team. Chris’s appointment reflects growing demand for independent investment advice from this market. Chris will lead the development of the firm’s investment advice for charities, endowments and foundations. He will help mission-led organisations build purposeful and resilient investment strategies to support their long-term journeys.
Chris joined Hymans Robertson in 2022 as an investment consultant, having previously worked in senior roles at Buck (now Gallagher) and EdenTree Investment Management (a charity-owned ESG asset manager). He brings 20 years of experience providing strategic financial advice tailored to the needs and objectives of a broad range of clients, including charities, endowments and pension funds. His appointment supports the consultancy’s commitment to charities in achieving the long-term resilience needed to deliver their purposes.
Commenting on Chris’ appointment, Emma Cameron, Head of Investment, Hymans Robertson, says:
“We are really pleased to appoint Chris to lead our charities, endowments and foundations work. Demand for independent, high-quality advice in this sector keeps growing, and our role is to help trustees invest with purpose and confidence.
“As a B Corp firm that also has our own charitable foundation, we strongly believe in the importance of responsible investment (RI), which is valued by charities and endowments. With some organisations pulling back from RI in the face of global political pressures, Chris’ appointment reflects the firm’s belief in the value of sustainable investment and the benefits it can bring to charities.
“Responsible investment creates long-term value for mission-led organisations. With his vast experience, Chris will help clients build resilient and purpose-driven portfolios that fund the outcomes they exist to deliver.”
Commenting on his new role, Chris King says:
“I am looking forward to helping charities to navigate the investment environment and to further their positive missions. As a certified B Corp, our commitment to responsible and sustainable business will continue to be reflected in our work with charities and giving back through the Hymans Robertson Foundation. My priority is bringing forward-thinking ideas and partnering closely to build trusted relationships, with collaborative work that can shape strong and resilient strategies. Now more than ever, independent advice unencumbered by external conflicting pressures is hugely valued by this market.”
