20 Feb 2020

Hymans Robertson, the leading pensions and financial services consultancy, has promoted William Chan to lead its DC Investment consulting.

William joined Hymans Robertson in 2015 after over 10 years as an investment consultant for JANA Investment Advisers and MLC Implemented Consulting in Australia. In his new role, he will lead Hymans Robertson on their DC investment proposition, portfolio construction and implementation for a broad range of DC clients and under a diverse range of governance models.

Over the past three years, William has led the DC Research area at Hymans Robertson where he has focused his time on researching DGFs, multi-factor equities, ESG funds and pre and post-retirement solutions in the DC marketplace.

William has also joined the newly formed Pension Advice Taskforce set up by the Personal Finance Society.

Mark Jaffray, Partner and Head of DC at Hymans Robertson comments:

“William has been a real asset to the DC consulting team since he joined. He has been a driving force behind the development of our investment strategy design and more recently our responsible investment proposition for DC. I’m thrilled to see him take over leading our investment consulting for our DC clients.”

William Chan, Head of DC Investment, adds:

“It’s fair to say that DC pensions have transformed over the last decade. I’m really excited to take over this role as DC investment strategies continue to evolve within the emerging environment of consolidation, increased regulation, particularly with regards to responsible investment, and the significant growth in assets that the DC industry will experience in the next decade.”
