Insurance & Financial Services networking reception
12 May 2022 - Banking Hall, London - 18:30 to 21:00
Our Insurance & Financial Services networking event is taking place on Thursday 12 May 2022, beginning at 6.30pm.
This year's reception will be held at Banking Hall, where you'll have the opportunity to network with colleagues and industry peers, whilst enjoying a selection of drinks and canapés.
Our theme for the evening is “Why we need the insurance sector more than ever” and we're pleased that we'll be joined by our keynote speaker and independent economist Andrew Milligan OBE.
Andrew will take a realistic look at today’s sobering economic and political environments, their outlook, and why despite the seemingly-never-ending gloomy news there is great cause for optimism for the future.
We look forward to seeing you all there! If you have any questions in the meantime, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Date: Thursday 12 May 2022
Time: 6.30 - 9.00pm
Andrew Milligan has had a wide-ranging career, culminating in his role as Head of Global Strategy at Aberdeen Standard Investments – now abrdn – until 2020. This involved creating the House View, and advising institutional clients across the world about asset allocation decisions. Prior to that he worked in H.M. Treasury, as an international economist at Lloyds Bank, and in fund management as Director of Economic Research at Aviva Investors.
Andrew is now an independent economist, advising a variety of charities, endowments, pension schemes and other investors. He writes regularly on financial matters in the trade press.
Andrew was a member of Court of Heriot-Watt University, where he still lectures. He received an OBE in 2015 for services to innovation and the economy, having been a Governing Board member of the Technology Strategy Board, now Innovate UK.
