Our purpose – together, building better futures – is at the heart of why we exist. It’s about building better financial futures for millions of people across the UK through our pensions, investment and insurance services. It’s about building a more sustainable future now and for generations to come. And it’s about building a better future for our people, clients and communities so everyone can thrive.
We’re proud to be B Corp certified. That means we’re one of thousands of other purpose-led organisations who champion business as a force for good. Together, we can all make a positive difference.

Our people are our firm. Working together, we want to make this the best job they’ll ever have. We’re committed to building a diverse workforce where everyone can be themselves, thrive and belong. Not only for the benefits to our people, but for our firm, our clients and wider society.
Building a more sustainable future means acting now to tackle climate risk. Minimising our environmental impact and developing sustainable business practices is a key element of our commitment to being a socially responsible business. We've pledged to halve our 2019/20 core carbon footprint of 1988 tCO2e by 2025 and to offset our measured emissions each year to achieve a net zero position. In addition, we're already working with our people to help reduce their carbon footprint, and working out how we can support our clients, customers and suppliers too.
Supporting our local communities is the perfect example of our Purpose in action. Our people are encouraged to take their 21 hours of paid volunteering each year, with volunteering days and fundraising activities coordinated by our “Helping Hands” teams in each office. The Hymans Robertson Foundation also provides matched funding for individual and team fundraising efforts.
We apply our skills and areas of expertise to help improve financial education and social inclusion through the Hymans Robertson Foundation. We set up the Foundation in 2015 and invest 2% of our profits each year. Working in partnership with community and charitable organisations across the UK, the Foundation provides funding and support for projects aimed at improving the lives of thousands of disadvantaged young people and their communities.
