Mike joined Hymans Robertson as a Partner in 2015 following 25 years with Aon Hewitt where he held a senior position in its actuarial practice. He has acted as an actuary and as lead consultant to UK pension arrangements whose assets range from several hundred million pounds to in excess of £10bn.
Mike has diverse experience of UK schemes including early intervention cases with the Pensions Regulator, quasi-governmental guarantees, longevity swaps, pension scheme debts, scheme mergers/demergers and PPF entry cases. His clients have included industry-wide pension schemes and other multiple schemes with common trustee bodies.
He has sat on several committees of the Institute of Actuaries. He now spends the majority of his working time with clients but also focusses on mentoring and coaching future client managers. Mike has been responsible for the syllabus for the actuarial pensions examinations and is a regular speaker at client conferences.
