New Head of Trustee DB at Hymans Robertson

15 May 2018

Hymans Robertson, the leading pensions and risk consultancy, has promoted Susan McIlvogue, to be Head of its Trustee Defined Benefit (DB) business.

With over 20 years’ experience working with trustees, Susan has played a key role within the business since joining in 2014, helping to lead its development and growth. Prior to joining Hymans Robertson, Susan advised a wide range of trustees and sponsors during her 19 years at Mercer where she also held a number of leadership roles.

Commenting on her appointment, Susan McIlvogue, Partner and Head of Trustee DB at Hymans Robertson says:

“In this time of heightened scrutiny of DB schemes it is essential that trustees feel supported and confident in navigating a changing environment. Headlines continue to be grabbed by news of company failures and requests from members to transfer out of their DB scheme have quadrupled since 2015. At the same time, new ways to create value are emerging which can genuinely make every pound go further and improve the security of people’s pensions.

“I’m excited to see how the role of a trustee will continue to evolve and how I can, in this new position, continue to help trustees affordably improve the security of people’s pensions.”

Susan took over the role from Calum Cooper, also a Partner, who will continue to work within Trustee DB at Hymans Robertson.
