Hymans Robertson has made two senior appointments to its Life and Financial Services team, providing consultancy services to insurers in areas including risk and capital optimisation, portfolio transfers, longevity, investment strategy and product development.

He has extensive consulting experience, has provided strategic advice across a number of corporate reorganisations, and is one of the UK’s leading Independent Experts on insurance business reorganisations and Part VII transfers

Theresa Chew joins the firm as Head of Transactions and Structuring. In her previous consulting roles at Deloitte, Tillinghast Towers Perrin and EY, she advised on some of the largest and highest-profile M&As, IPOs and corporate restructures in the UK life insurance industry. Theresa’s role at Hymans Robertson will focus on growing its M&A advisory and transaction structuring capabilities.

Stephen Makin, Partner at Hymans Robertson:

“These appointments come off the back of a fantastic period of growth for our life consulting business at Hymans Robertson. In the current low interest rate environment, and with heightened economic uncertainty, we expect see the pace of M&A and business transfers pick up. We’re thrilled that Theresa and John have joined us, and their appointments put us in an even stronger position to help our clients manage the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities that lie ahead.”
