Hymans Robertson Foundation celebrates 5th birthday with extra £45,000 donation to charity partners

07 Sep 2021

The Hymans Robertson Foundation’s fifth birthday this year will be marked with it offering an additional series of grants totalling £45,000. Five awards of £5,000 will be given to the Foundation’s smaller charity partners – FARE Scotland, SportInspired, TLG – Transforming Lives for Good, Works + and MyBnk. Each charity will be able to allocate this grant to meet their individual charity’s needs. In recognition of the firm’s local charity partnerships, which are managed by teams of volunteers within each Hymans Robertson office, an additional £20,000 has also been allocated to be distributed to local charity partners.

The Hymans Robertson Foundation is the principal means of charitable giving for the leading pensions and financial services consultancy, Hymans Robertson, which celebrates its centenary this year. These extra awards are in addition to the core funding from the Foundation, supporting local communities and helping disadvantaged young people become financially secure.

Commenting on the Hymans Robertson Foundation’s fifth birthday, the Foundation's Chair, Clive Fortes said:

"The last five years have gone by in a flash and it is so encouraging to reflect on the work of our wonderful charity partners. The past 18 months have been like no other and the pandemic has had a huge impact on the 3rd sector, with many charities having to dip into reserves and suspend ‘business as usual’ activities. Our grant will allow charities to use this money as suits their own needs, be it for computers, staff training or funding towards existing programmes. We look forward to learning how the funding has been used.”

Commenting on the £20,000 donation to support local charity initiative, Fortes continued:

“The Foundation continues to demonstrate its ongoing support to our charity partners, throughout the pandemic and beyond. This grant is recognition of the value we place in our local charity network, and Hymans Robertson staff, working directly with young people and local communities.

“We look forward to celebrating the next five years of the Hymans Robertson Foundation and continuing to work hand in hand as we work towards our next milestone birthday.”
