In October 2019, we launched a survey specifically for LGPS employers. We wanted to give employers the opportunity to share their views about their participation in the LGPS.

The three key themes that were reflected in the responses were:

  1. The high cost of providing LGPS benefits, although many of you also recognise that the high cost reflects a valuable benefit for staff.
  2. A desire for improved technology solutions to support the administration of their employees' LGPS benefits.
  3. More communication to employees to help them understand their LGPS benefits.
