Hymans Robertson, the leading independent benefits and investment consultant, has been appointed to provide investment consultancy services to the £220m Doosan Babcock Energy Pension Scheme. The role will cover the full spectrum of investment advice, including investment strategy, scheme structure and manager selection.
Linda Selman, Senior Investment Consultant at Hymans Robertson, commented: “We are delighted to be working with the trustees of the Doosan Babcock scheme. In today’s challenging investment environment it is important to focus not only on the shorter term actions which trustees should be taking, but also to set a clear long term plan. This will ensure that the trustees effectively capture investment opportunities as they present themselves.”
David Somers, Chairman of the Trustees at Doosan Babcock, said: “The trustees were keen to work with an adviser who would be proactive in their approach and would reflect the individual characteristics of our scheme in their advice. In both their written submission and their presentation, Hymans Robertson clearly demonstrated their understanding of the unique needs of the Doosan Babcock scheme and how they would tailor their advice to suit us. Additionally the team from Hymans Robertson demonstrated a clear, down-to-earth and thoughtful approach which particularly appealed to the trustees.
