We are seeking to recruit a Senior Communications Consultant who will be responsible for creating and maintaining an efficient service to all potential, new and existing clients and in developing the business of the firm, particularly that relating to the practice of which they are part.
Key responsibilities of the role include:

Manage a portfolio of larger and/or more complex clients, including attendance at meetings, co-ordinating the services provided to the client and developing those services

Liaise with other members of the client team and managing and developing the client relationship

Understand and drive the commercial development of allocated clients in line with the firm’s values
-
Delivery of high quality, expert advice to clients, employing innovative solutions and strategic thinking
-
Develop new prospects and participate in new business pitches
-
Actively contribute to developing the consulting capabilities of the practice, including generating ideas for new areas of work
-
Build and maintain strong links with other business areas within the firm to promote, champion and help to deliver cross practice solutions to clients and cross fertilisation of thinking for the development of the firm’s products and services

Contribute to the identification of training needs of the practice and assist in the coaching and development of staff

Role model for the values of the firm

Ensure timely billing and recovery of fees

Acquire and maintain a solid understanding of the firm’s products and services

Draft, review and sign off documentation for pensions and employee benefits communication

Accurately proof-read documents

Contribute to and authorise design briefs for design agencies

Create, refine and adhere to the professional standards and quality systems of the firm e.g. peer review process and other best practice notes, advice and practice frameworks

Flexibility to travel to clients and other Hymans Robertson offices
Knowledge and Experience:

A solid understanding of the employee benefits market

Understanding of how the communication agenda forms part of the wider client proposition and how to manage appropriately

Able to provide insight into strategic communication issues

Expert understanding of communication best practice and techniques with a commitment to keep up to date with developments in the communications arena

Highly conversant with developments in the employee benefits arena

Strong commercial awareness of the market and of the aims, goals and objectives of the Scheme Design and Management Practice

Experience of operating successfully in a previous communications role at a senior level

Proven employee benefits consultancy experience with a flexible, pro-active and creative approach to client solutions and client engagement

Works in partnership with clients to establish needs

Strong interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated in the ability to consult and influence successfully at senior levels of an organisation
