In light of our Investment Practice’s continued growth and recent new business wins, we are currently seeking to recruit an additional Investment Consultant to strengthen the practice’s client facing capability and to play an active role in both the support of existing and development of potential new clients.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Provide investment advice to both trustee and corporate clients on a wide range of issues, with a focus on advice to companies
- Manage and advise a portfolio of clients
- Deliver high quality, expert investment advice employing strategic and innovative solutions
- Develop business - active involvement in client ‘prospecting’, relationship building and new business pitches
- Build and maintain strong links with other areas of the business to facilitate cross selling
- Potential involvement in manager research/other technical work – depending on knowledge and experience
- Represent the business and speak at appropriate conferences and other appropriate forums
- Mentoring and developing junior colleagues

- First class interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated in the ability to consult and influence successfully.
- Flexible, pro-active and innovative approach to client solutions
- A team player with a motivational, hands-on approach.
- Flexibility to travel to clients and other Hymans Robertson offices across the UK
Qualifications:
- Likely to be FFA/FIA or CFA qualified – may be authorised to give investment advice via another qualification or experience
Experience:
- May well be performing a similar role in a consultancy environment, or come from a fund management background
- A solid understanding of the legislative framework for UK pension schemes.
- Strong commercial awareness of the pensions and employee benefits market
- Related knowledge or experience of Company Accounts an advantage, but not essential.

- Apply strong intellect to complex problem-solving in client organisations
- Coach and develop other professionals
- Consult with senior client contacts
- Cope with ambiguity
- Recognise and facilitate business development and intra/inter-practice referral opportunities as appropriate
