Assistant Legal, Risk & Compliance Executive 

Location: London 
Term: Contract 

 

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of the Firm’s compliance strategy and policy.
  • Liaise with the business to communicate and facilitate the implementation of the Firm’s compliance plan and other policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of all the regulatory regimes to which the Firm is subject.
  • Assist the team in identifying and facilitating the implementation of changes as and when required in order for the Firm to adapt to the changing regulatory environment.
  • Support the business in identifying and mitigating legal & regulatory risk in a commercially aware manner.
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of effective training and monitoring of partners and employees who are subject to regulation.
  • Assist in the preparation and conduct of internal audits where appropriate to ensure adherence with regulatory or other internal standards.
  • Assist the Senior In-house Counsel and In-house Counsel draft, amend and negotiate contracts, confidentiality agreements, engagement letters etc in line with corporate policy.
  • Monitor and assist in resolving complaints and approving financial promotions.  
 

 Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • Educated to at least A level/Scottish Higher level or with demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Ideally holds an Honours Degree.
  • Appropriate professional qualification or progress towards this.
  • Experience working within a regulatory and/or legal environment.
  • Experience of commercial law and application within a commercial environment. 
  • Previous experience in working with the Financial Services Authority in the creation of a risk management and compliance strategy and policy.
  • Previous experience in drafting, amending and negotiating contracts, confidentiality agreements, engagement letters etc in line with the corporate policy. 
  • Solid demonstrable experience in an advisory role, ideally in a professional services environment.
  • Highly computer literate in at least MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint,
  • Knowledge of FSA regulations and the ability to interpret the regulations as it would apply to Hymans Robertson or a similar commercial environment.
  • Understanding of the development of a highly professional compliance approach in respect of regulatory regimes and legislative requirements within a corporate environment.
  • Understanding of Best Practice in respect of the implementation of a risk management and compliance strategy and policy within a corporate environment.
