Although an actuarial trainee needs to have a solid grounding in mathematics, we’re looking for individuals from a variety of academic backgrounds.

What’s important is that you are a well-rounded individual who enjoys the intellectual challenge that actuarial consultancy provides. As well as maths and statistics graduates, we’ve taken trainees with degrees in accountancy, law and aeronautics, and most of the people we select choose to stay with us right through their careers.

At Hymans Robertson we’re looking for ambitious people with that rare combination of statistical, problem-solving and communication skills. People who can analyse an issue from a technical point of view, devise a creative and coherent solution and persuade our clients to adopt it.
