Our summer 2010 internship programme 

Our summer internship programme typically runs for between 8 and 12 weeks between June to August.  It is aimed at giving you  a detailed insight into working within an employee benefits consultancy, and in particular our actuarial practice. You will work alongside some of the most talented consultants within the field and will be fully supported and mentored whilst undertaking real day to day tasks within a designated client team. The client team includes consultants at all levels of their careers ranging from new graduate trainees, fully qualified actuaries and Partners of the Firm.   

We are looking for students who are in the penultimate year of their university studies, and you will have a strong grounding in Mathematics.  Candidates must be interested in pursuing an actuarial career within an employee benefits and pensions environment, be able to demonstrate consultancy potential and have the drive and determination to impress in the work environment.  You will support an actuarial team with a wide variety of client work, including assisting with practice and client based projects. 

 
Key requirements:

  • You will be working towards a degree in a discipline that provides for a solid foundation in maths, coupled with strong A level, ‘Higher’ or equivalent results, including an A grade in mathematics.
  • Strong communication skills, demonstrated in a minimum Standard Grade Credit Level/GCSE English B Grade  or equivalent.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • A flexible and proactive approach.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A willingness and ability to learn.
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Committed to high standards while working to deadlines.
